ABOUT US
Nautical Seafoods Ltd. was established in 2009 when Shawn Everett, President and Owner, returned home after fishing in Newfoundland for 20 years. Shawn has been a fisherman all of his life and appreciates the hard work fisherman put in catching their product. Nautical Seafoods Ltd. has rapidly grown by building strong relationships with local fisherman. The Company is located in Parker’s Cove, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. Our facility sits next to the rich cold waters of the Bay of Fundy home to hard shell lobster and high quality scallops. Geographically we are located near 3 lobster fishing districts which allows us to buy product 10 months of the year and for us to have product year round.
In 2015 Nautical Seafoods Ltd. began shipping live products overseas for the first time. In a short period of time we have grown our export business and established ourselves as a reliable, high quality exporter.
In 2016, we acquired a facility in Digby Nova Scotia home of the biggest inshore fleet of scallops in Canada.
MISSION
Nautical Seafoods Ltd. Mission is to be a major lobster buyer of lobster District 35 and 34 while being a major buyer of sea scallops.
QUALITY COMMITMENT
Nautical Seafoods Ltd. is committed to only providing the highest quality lobster and scallops. All of our lobsters go through the same quality process as set out by the quality certification program developed by the province of Nova Scotia with the aid of a marine biologist at Universite Sainte Anne Center of Marine Research. We do protein samples with all of our batches and remove soft shell lobster. Our water levels are tracked daily for salinity, oxygen, ammonia and temperature.
Our scallops are natural and free from any additives or preservatives.
SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
Nautical Seafoods Ltd is committed to supporting sustainable practices as Shawn Everett has been a fisherman all of his life, as has his father. His son is also a proud fisherman. The lobster industry is closely monitored by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and has set trap limits and size limits to help protect the sustainability of lobster for years to come. The Marine Stewardship Council has designated the Bay of Fundy lobster fishery a sustainable fishery.
Our scallop fishery is also closely monitored by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and has strict quotas in place to protect its sustainability.
